Chocolate Poundcake From Brigitte

2 3/4 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 cup margarine
2/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 eggs
1 egg yolk
3 squares baking chocolate
1 powdered sugar

1. Start heating oven to 350 degrees F. Line bottom of a 3 1/2 " deep 9" tube pan. 2. Into large mixer bowl, sift together flour, cream of tartar, soda, salt and sugar. 3. Drop in margarine; pour in milk and vanilla. Mix at low to medium speed, for 2 minutes, scraping bowl often. 4. Add eggs, chocolate, egg yolk and beat 1 minute longer. 5. Turn into pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until done. 6. Cool in pan on wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove from pan peel off paper; cool on rack. 7. Before serving sprinkle powdered sugar into ridges of cake.
