Cocoanut Cake
cakes
3 cup flour
3 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
4 each egg whites
1 1/2 cup sugar; white
1 cup cocoanut
1 cup water
1 teaspoon lemon flavoring
Cream butter and sugar. Add cocoanut, flour, sifted with baking powder and salt, alternately with water. Fold in whites last. Note: Bake in moderate 350 F. oven. Source: Mrs. William Hamilton, Darrow Street Grange, Summit County, OH
