1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter -=or=- margarine
1 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoon dark corn syrup
4 cup pecan halves
Combine first 5 ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add pecans and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture forms a soft ball when dropped by teaspoonful into cold water (236F on a candy thermometer). Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Cool.
