Mother's Swedish Spritz Cookies

2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 1/2 cup flour

Cream butter and sugar together thoroughly. Add the egg, flavoring, or flavorings, and flour. Use star disk with cookie press and shape dough into small wreaths. Bake at 400 for 7 to 10 minutes.
