North Pole Cherry Pie

1 quart vanilla ice cream
1 each baked 9 pie shell
1 single or crumb crust
22 oz can cherry pie filling

Spread slightly softened ice cream in pie shell and freeze.An hour before serving,spread filling over top.Return to freezer.Serve quickly.
